Sweeney Christmas

Ha! Yes, he was amazing. It's pretty bad when Alan Rickman can actually creep me out. Just means he's a good actor, I love him more, etc. etc. etc. :)

And if you are too cowardly for projectile blood spray, then you should stay away from this movie. Although the unfathomable amounts of blood (unfathomable for anyone who isn't Tim Burton, I suppose) were hilarious at times, the movie was pretty much 1/2 gray dirty people/city/life and 1/2 bright red blood spraying everywhere (including all over the camera at one point). And I suppose there were splurts of absurdly out-of-place sequences in actual color that only reinforced the purely gray and purely red bits as reality.

All right, rant over. If you can stand to close your eyes through the half of the movie that is pure blood and guts (since that's the part that seems to bother you), then there are defitely some stellar performances (including Rickman's) to be appreciated. Otherwise, just imagine Alan-as-Snape goading someone about gandering at his love interest and you've got my favorite part of the whole thing. :)
