Shirota Yuu, “bestest friend ever”...
Many reporters have attempted to give a precise and exact image of young talent Shirota Yuu's life, exploring its multiple sides: music, filmography, social impact, etc. However, until now, nobody ever succeeded to obtain direct information from the world-wide superstar... But for you, our reporter has infiltrated Shirota's network and has been able to bring back new accounts from friends and family...

I meet Akanishi Jin in a small bar next to the Johnnies' jimusho. He arrives slightly late, which leaves me time to prepare my questions and start a draft of the interview. The young man is polite, confident, and as soon as his order arrives, I start the interview.
DANISHPINKCESS: Nice to meet you, Akanishi-kun. I hope this doesn't interfere with your schedule. You must be busy with your group.
AKANISHI JIN: Nice to meet you, too. It's fine, they know how to work without me, after all...
Akanishi-kun frowns and takes a sip of his drink. I decide to avoid this subject that seems to bother him, and I focus my questions on more important matters.
DP: So, what can you tell me about Shirota-san?
A.J: Shirota-san... Oh, Shiropon! Sure! (Laughs.) Well, he's a good mate of mine. Why?
DP: Some people say you two are best friends. Is that true?
A.J: Best friends... Yeah. Why not? I mean, I don't know. Okay.
Akanishi-kun seems to have trouble expressing his feelings, probably due to his surprising shyness. I go for subtle questions.
DP: Do you hang out together often?
A.J: Yeah, pretty much often.
DP: And what is your favorite activity together?
A.J: I'm sorry, I can't answer that.
DP: It's fine. Can you tell me more about your trip in Spain with Shirota-kun?
A.J: Oh, sure. Well, we went together in Spain, for holidays.
DP: And, how did it go?
A.J: Fine.
DP: So, you two get along well together?
A.J: Of course, he's my mate, afterall.
Finally, a moving confession of his true feelings for his friend! I try to go further...
DP: You must have a lot of friends. Is Shirota-kun... special?
A.J: Special? I don't know...
Does this ambiguous answer hide something more profound? I wonder...
DP: Akanishi-kun, is there something particular you associate with Shirota-kun? Like an event, or... something else.
A.J: You mean, like, the time where, we were both in his house, and we, like... Nevermind.
DP: Did something happen?
A.J: No, but, we kind of ended up, like...
DP: Yes...
A.J: Wet.
DP: Wet? Why?
A.J: We had a water fight.
DP: A water fight? Oh. I see.
A.J: Yes.
DP: So, to conclude, you'd say that Shirota-kun is a good friend whom you can have water fights with. That's... great.
A.J: Yes.
DP: Yes.
A short silence falls between us as Akanishi-kun is lost in his thoughts, but I want to get more precise information...
DP: It must be amazing to have such a friend, right?
A.J: Yes, it is.
DP: You must have a lot of fun with him...
A.J: Yes, I do.
DP: Really?
A.J: Yes. Really.
Is Akanishi-kun keeping a secret? Things are getting interesting, so I decide to push things further.
DP: You don't seem so convinced...
A.J: I am.
DP: Alright, if you say so...
A.J: I say so.
DP: Akanishi-kun! Somehow that topic seems to bother you, we can change the subject if you really mind talking about-
A.J: I'm not bothered. I don't mind.
DP: Very well, then. Can you tell me more about... Shirota-kun?
I lean across the table and reduce my voice to a whisper, just so this privacy makes Akanishi-kun more confident.
A.J: Nothing more needs to be said. Yuu-kun is one of my best friends, that's all.
DP: That's all, really?
A.J: Yes. Really.
DP: Well, that's too bad, because then we would just have to finish the interview, and that would definitely be a waste, right. Do you want another drink?
After the waitress takes our orders, Akanishi-kun seems less tense, relaxing in his seat.
A.J: That bar is nice, right?
DP: Definitely.
A.J: They make the best mojitos in all Tokyo.
DP: It was a nice pick, Akanishi-kun.
A.J: Thanks.
Our orders arrives, and we both take a sip.
A.J: By the way, that shirt is pretty cool.
DP: Thank you, Akanishi-kun.
A.J: You've got taste, don't you? (Smiles.)
DP: Oh, I don't know about that, Akanishi-kun...
A.J: Please, call me Jin...
The interview goes on smoothly, and somewhere around Akanishi-kun declares, enthusiastic: “Shiropon is my bestest [friend] ever!”. What a moving revelation! This interview was obviously a new and vital piece of information, helping us understand better the cloudy personality of Shirota-kun, but mysteries remain...

Shirota Yuu, attacked by the critics!
On Thursday, a journalist from the KinkiLovePlanet, a well known idol magazine, held abusive words about Shirota-kun, describing him as “GLORIOUSLY BRAINLESS, BUCK-TOOTHED AND PACKAGE-PADDED”. Young reporter A.P added: “A WONDER FOR THE AVERAGE FANGIRL?” And that was enough for the debate to start...

Indeed, this shocking declaration arose a wave of protests in the entire country. Today, masses of fan were gathered in front of the KinkiP headquarters. According to the police forces, they were at least a thousand to block the street as a sign of protestation. Their spokeswoman anonymously explained: “This is the only thing we can do, we know nobody will listen to us is we stay in the shadow. Today is the day when Shirotan-san's real fans can express themselves and show him their support.”
In addition to the fan's uprising, many of Shirota-kun's fellows and friends have been present today, in a way or another. “Johnnies” Yamashita Tomohisa and Nishikido Ryo (NEWS) interrupted their concert and organized a minute of silence in the Tokyo Dome. “I can't believe someone really wrote that,” Yamashita said. “It's just so low and untrue.”
A petition has been circulated around in order to ask for the suppression of the article and a public blame for the journalist. Amongst the names written, many celebrities: obviously, the close relatives of the artist have expressed themselves, but, more surprisingly, idols from the musical and cinematographic milieu have decided to side up with Shirota-kun. Thus, Okhura Tadayoshi's signature lies next to Daigo Nato's (widely know as DAIGO). Political figures also declared their dissatisfaction towards the KinkiLovePlanet. “This kind of attitude towards a celebrity is intolerable. Nowadays, reporters take more and more liberties concerning the respect of the person and present a distorted version of truth to our children, forgetting that they will become citizens too. This is a scandal!” said an eminent member of the government.
The KinkiP's spokesman has declared that “nothing had been decided yet”, but that “the author of the article had been reprimanded”. The only question remaining is, can a simple “reprimand” repare the harm caused by such an attack? Shirota-kun himself hasn't wished to make his opinion public, probably emotionally shattered. Who wouldn't be, after such a criticism? Low, poorly argued, based solely on futile physical criteria: these words were clearly unworthy of a proper journalist.
