Jiyong / Seunghyun; Big Bang OT5
PG-13 / R
AU: unicellular organisms
CRACKCRACKCRACK ("Say 'crack' again?" "Crack.")
For this picture:
This happened after the Big Bang.
Jiyong spreads fast and good, infests most of his siblings like the good virus he is; there’s an armada of tiny nasty cells ready to conquer your cytoplasm and everyone swims away quickly when he approaches.
Youngbae, though, Youngbae doesn’t. Youngbae gets infected (like a loser, some might say) and gets a heavy surplus of DNA. He suffers quietly for a while until Jiyong discovers that together, they’re able to synthesize oxygen. This is great, he declares, and swiftly mutates until they can live in perfect symbiosis.
Daesung is different: he has no desire to end up feeding a little hijacker for the rest of his evolution, thank you very much. He develops antibodies on his cellular membrane and waits for Jiyong to come with a smug feeling of immunity. Jiyong gets close, sees the defenses, thinks of making Youngbae mutate again and attack him, until he realizes the Daesunga Coli has this totally awesome blue-greenish color and really, it would be a waste to destroy that. He thinks he’ll ask Youngbae to synthesize red pigments instead. Meanwhile he adds Daesung to their ecosystem.
Seungri has seen the Daesunga too, but he’s slightly less awed. It totally sucks that he’s a simple prokaryote with his boring round DNA and his boring cytoplasm, no really, it sucks. Jiyong didn’t even think of attacking him. He develops a tail, lashes, an ingenious secretive system, fancy proteins, and parades in front of the BaeJiDae complex. Seungri gets glomped in and feels proud.
There are still a few more mutations before Jiyong crosses paths with Seunghyun. His system is working pretty well, they’ve divided just fine and spread in their environment, but there is still something lacking, some kind of evolution steeze they don’t see.
Seunghyun is a eukaryote.
Jiyong is caught.
Utterly and irrevocably in love as soon as he sees him.
He detaches half of his troops from the complex and literally goes rubbing himself on Seunghyun, all but vibrating with eagerness.
Seunghyun looks at that midget trying to impress him, and, charitably, fusions their membranes together. Jiyong settles in his cytoplasm with a feeling of bliss he’s never experienced before. He even lets Seunghyun mutate without asking his opinion about it and finds himself in a complicated endosymbiosis process that makes him feel safe and cozy, even if he has to work his ass off to prove Seunghyun he’s a worthy investment (or to make himself look superior, he’s not too sure - at least he’s found a safe place).
The remains of his last complex settle around them, a bit relieved and a bit sad, but Seunghyun is nice enough to create a symbiosis with them too, so all in all, things are pretty okay.
They’re just a bit sensitive to pollution.
