I work in a vitamin store part-time. Its great because I learn new stuff everyday, but it can also be...well, sometimes the phrase ignorance is bliss makes me yearn for less knowledge. People in a vitamin store are, in general, extremely AWARE of all the awful ways we're going to die as a species. Global warming, global dimming, nuclear war,

The same nasty chemicals that are in teflon are in gortex and scotch guard and other waterproofing things ... *shakes fist* dupont is the devil ...
And buying another bottle of shampoo is the end of the world. After like 2 months of being poo-free, I used a small amount of shampoo *once* and it took me like a month to detox from it. it was sooo gross ... :( plus the scary thing about shampoo is not the mineral oil (tho that isn't fun) it's the silicon and the SLS, which is easily absorbed into your skin and denatures protines in your eyes ... >.<
I dunno. I think we have to be more freaked out and diligiant about everything to make up for the a$$holes who dump cans of paint and gas on the ground, and drive hummers and buy each of their kids their own TV/DVD player ... I read this article about how this man bought each of his like 6/7 year old sons their own tvs so "they wouldn't have to argue over what channel to watch" *facepalm* and we wonder what is wrong with america ...

For me, I think I'll do what I can, & keep bolstering my panicked mind with signs that there's still hope ;-P

I'm sure everyone is different. Me, I don't really do anything unless I'm freaked out. I look at the world and it looks so *normal* and everyone else on the planet's staunch convition that everything is going to stay the way it is overwhelms me and I begin to doubt. But then I go read some expose of the evil chemicals they are useing to killus and the earth and I start freaking out again, and then I actually do productive things ;)

Its such a process...transitioning from the 'normal' world where no one questions where food or electricity or their clothing comes from...to the world where we know where EVERYTHING comes from. It takes time to wrap your head around it. Maybe everyone goes through that process of doubting, & then freaking out again, & then doubting...
I know I did (& still do to a lesser extent).
It is weird to see everything looking so 'normal' isn't it? I don't think that's gonna last too much longer...
