jaejoong/boa, yunho/boa
the first time he saw her at her worst was at an artists' concert in japan, backstage with a face that gave no expression. the look of pain he could have stand, it was something he was used to, but she was boa, a girl who, even before the time of her korean debut, was full of surprises. a girl who, even when blood spurts or when bones crack, expressed nothing of pain.
he ran to her aid then, as any best friend would do to his sick other, placing a hand on her forehead and being slapped away seconds after. to be independent at such a young age, he couldn't imagine, and he knew dependency had been long gone from her soul.
you have a fever, he had said, voice low and stern. i don't, was her breathless reply.
that night he went home with the three other members, totaling of four. he said he wasn't going to leave, despite her protests. after all, they were best friends, weren't they?
they never leave each other's side.

the way he carried her made her wonder, why he was carrying her at all made her more confused. but her blurring sight was at his hand that tucked under her legs and laced around her knees, and her thoughts drifting to how his breathing was somewhat calming.
you have a fever, yunho half whispers. i'm fine, she mumbles.
he doesn't leave the room, and she wanted to know why. he was caring, but boa didn't need it. she watches him shuffle around, looking for god knows what, mind detailing at the familiar actions.
why are you doing this, she asks mildly, voice barely audible to his ears. but the question reaches him and he chooses to remain silent. because maybe if he answered she'd laugh, laugh at him for trying too hard. she'd say someone else's name and he didn't want to hear it.
yunho yah, she calls again. he bites the inside of his lip. why are you being like this.
like what, he croaks, trying to busy himself by searching for the medicine. how could she ask that question?
like jaejoong. his fingers momentarily stop. she wasn't hesitant to mention the name. how she could roll the name he tried to avoid hearing off her tongue so easily bothered him immensely.
am i? he falters in breathing. whispers seemed to be the only volume his voice can reach. she laughs, restrained, almost fake.
boa blinks to find his hand over her forehead and she gently brings the hand down. she releases a sigh and glances at one of the other six bracelets around wrists.
deja vu. only you weren't the one taking care of me, she eyes their surroundings. she needed a bigger dressing room.
he pops the lid open of the medication and pours out two pills, as instructed. he stares at the white tablets, wondering the same thing. years of watching the oldest from the side during these situations had the benefits.
if i were to leave one day, he once said, you take care of her for me. she becomes a little over her head sometimes, don't let her push you away. she's boa after all. put the medication in her water, if she refuses to take it and becomes physical. don't mind the thousand slaps to the arm later when she discovers you secretly drugged her, it'll take a few days and a few more slaps, but she'll thank you.
he taught you well, she mutters, her small hands taking the pills from his large ones.
yunho refrains a bitter smile. he watches her place the tablets into her mouth and drink the water.
i guess he did.
author's note: the original plan was to have the personal pronouns only, without names so that the reader can make out which guy was which, as seen in the beginning. but while doing yunho's part ineeded jaejoong's name to be mentioned and well. that plan was thrown into the bin haha. no quotation marks or proper capitalization in this one because i was curious of the format...er, and because i wrote this on my phone and didn't want to bother with symbols and shifts.
honestly there should be a lot of jae/boa/yunho fics, they're so beautiful when combined ;_;
