Ahh!!! Stupid fire patrol people...they came to my room while I was in class/at work and they always lock the door when they leave...even if it wasn't lock before. I would usually have my keys with me, but the little plastic dodad on my ID holder broke. I don't lock my door that often, except at night. So, I ended up going to Brandon and he carded my door for me! Thank you Brandon ^____^

Here's something interesting and totally unrelated. You know how you always see "old timey" shop signs that are often like this: Ye olde shoppe. Well, I had actually been wondering what the heck "ye" meant here. The logical assumption is "your" because ye was used in the late Middle English/Early Modern English period (and by pirates) to mean plural "you" (versus singular, which was "thou").  Buuuut, today I learned otherwise in class. Back in the very early days of the printing press, the type setters liked to see that the sides of the text were as straight as possible (ex- the left side of this entry is what I'm talking about). So, they would often improvise to make them straight. Since there was no one way to spell a word, they could often double a letter (like "Englissh") and no one would notice or care. Or, what they would sometimes do is substitute the letter combination "th" (also the combination "tha") with just "y." Thus, "yt" would mean "that," likewise making "ye olde shoppe" mean "the old shop." Pretty cool, huh?

I love this sort of stuff :D
