As mentioned, I worked at Colossal Con (my first attendance to any con)and demonstrated Mansions of Madness. I ran two games; each of which had three investigators, and both had several deaths.

Absolutely (almost)!

Now that I've played it I can confidently say that the $80 ticket is totally worth it. I mean, the amount of detail, balance and story make the game more than worth it.

However, we did run into two occasions where cards had blatant typos, and since I read them out loud, I didn't have time to prepare or edit - and I shouldn't have to!. In one instance, an investigator went all Rambo on a shoggoth, by running up to it and and shooting the thing in the face. I read the resulting text (something like) "You carefully aim for the weakest point toe by and the horror flails in pain as your bullet hits home.

This resulted in a 30 minute loss of theme as all the players went on about how they're hurting poor Toby, the shoggoth. And yes, when Toby did finally die, he was mourned by all the investigators he didn't personally eat.

What does this mean? Well, I really do want this game, and I'm willing to run/play a game if someone has a copy. But, I'm not going to run out right now and get it. Fantasy Flight had similar issues when they first printed Arkham Horror in 2005, and resolved all of those issues after their first expansion - with their second printing in 2007. So basically I'm going to wait and see what expansions come out, and what they do exactly.
