The drive to Bend

OK,
So driving into Bend oregon is like driving to the moon....
Tina and I flew in to Portland and that town is bad ass.. I almost sprained my neck from trying to look at all the cute boys in their beat up old pick up trucks...We drove about 2 hours up and over mount hood and that was phenominal... it is totally covered in snow, and it was so strange to see people with snowboards on their cars getting ready to go up the mountain in the middle of the summer....The drive up the maountain is exactly what you would imagine, covered in evergreens and foliage... georgous... but then...you come back down.

The next thing you know... you are in the middle of a dust bowl, on an indian reservation no less.. and it is hot and dry and ugly.. there is nothing but desolate wasteland and maybe a coyote dead on the side of the road... At this point, I have to admit... I wondered what the hell I was thinking coming up here to this god forsaken place...

So after about an hour of this nothingness....

There stands an oasis... no shit. All of the sudden there is this little town that just kind of sprouts out of nowhere.. and just in time, I might add...

It kind of looks like something that you would see in a movie...Town square...beautiful river running thru town, mommies and babies in strollers...so basically I wondering.. what the hell am I going to do now....I have officially entered the twilight zone....
