I Had A Conversation With Jared Leto

On June 25th I went to a 30 Seconds to Mars show at the Roxy. It was pretty good, although, there were some technical difficulties which caused the show to start late (around 9 instead of 7-8ish). So, I wound up working from 5:30 PM-1:30 AM at the show.

It started with me getting to the Roxy at about 5:30 PM. When I got there I met Tomo and the band's manager and was given posters to hang up around the venue. Then, once the posters were hung up, I got to see part of the band's warm up. And then my Dad (who was assisting me) and I were asked to sit in the lounge and wait until the concert started. However, right before the doors were opened to the venue, security told us we had to leave because we didn't have wrist bands needed to give us total access (although later we got "On the Rox" wristbands). So we had to go outside and wait in the back of the line to come back in and see the show.

After the show was over, my Dad and I passed out the band's new stickers to their fans. Most people were pretty excited to be getting the stickers...and some were really, really excited (and a bit smashed, I am guessing). And to top off the evening, Jared Leto came up to my Dad and me and shook our hands and told us how much he appreciated our helping promote the band. Which, of course, we responded to with a "no problem." So, we have now had a conversation (definition: an exchange of words) with Jared Leto.

Oh, and the "On the Rox" wrist bands gave us access to the after party. Unfortunitly, no members of the band, or the other bands who came to watch the show (Incubus and Burt McCracken of the band The Used) were there. So, Dad and I didn't stay long, especially after I got hit in the head with a beer bottle.
