Go See Phantom Planet Too!
Last night I went to the Phantom Planet Phan Club Show. It was great! Dad and I got to the Viper Room early and we got right up next to the stage. It was great. I was only about 1 ft away from Sam. In fact, we were so close that dad was hit in the head with Sam's bass! LOL.
Phantom Planet played for a little over an hour...but we were in the Viper Room from 7pm to 12am. There were to acts that went on before Phantom Planet. The groups were The Drugstore Cowgirls (an all guys group) who were not very good and Va Genius (which was fronted by a female singer)and they were really pretty good (they had a sort-of electronic sound).
Phantom Planet's part of the show was so great (have I said that enough times yet...?...lol). They played music that really got the crowd pumped and moving. And Alex (the band's lead singer) crowd surfed and hung from the Viper Room ceiling which made the bouncers mad and they came up onto the stage and made Alex get down.
I took lots of pics at the show. But later I found out people weren't allowed to take pics there...ooops. Oh, well. I got pics with two of the guys in the band after the show too...but I got pics with them outside. The two were Sam and Jacques who is no longer in the group but he came to the show to support the rest of the guys.
Also, while I was there I met a new Phantom Planet phan who I became friends with at the show. Her name is Alex and she drove from Texas to come to the Phantom Planet phan show. She seems pretty cool. In fact, she was the one that made sure the guys of Phantom Planet came out from backstage....she was really funny to see arguing with the bouncer by the backstage door. But, anyway...it was just nice to meet other Phantom Planet phans there.
So, overall, the concert was great...and I got some great shots from the show. And I must tell you all that I recommend you see Phantom Planet live at least once if you can. They are wonderful live! (They will be on the East cost these next few weeks...so go already...lol.)
