I went to the Phantom Planet/ No Doubt concert on the 2nd of July and it was great!
It started off with dad and I leaving early to get to the concert and hour before it was going to start. But the traffic on the way caused us to get to the parking lot of the venue at the exact time the concert was starting. So we ran up to the ampatheater...which was all uphill. And it was a long hike. But we made it and got our bracelets to get into the pit at the concert (we had really good tickets). And we got into the pit after Phantom Planet had played about 4 of their songs already. But even though we were that late we still got spots in the pit by the fence (of to the right side) so we didn't get stuck in the big crowed of people in the pit. Which is good because I didn't want to get hurt. I didn get hurt though...because when I ran up to the ampatheater my shoes rubbed the back of my feet and when I noticed that....I had blood all over the back of my white shoes. Wow-when you notice painful things like that-that is when you feel the hurt. Before then you don't notice...well, anyway...
We got to see Phantom Planet play about 5 more songs and then they left the stage so the techies could set up for the No Doubt part of the show. The girl next to me by the fence asked the security guard in front of us if she had enough time before the show to go to the bathroom. The guy told her she sholdn't leave the pit until after No Doubt started or she would be sorry she left. You see...when No Doubt started about 10 minutes later Gwen Stephani ran by right in front of us! That was so cool! I tried to get a picture of her as she ran by...we will see today if the picture will turn out.
I took a whole roll of film at the concert...all of which I used on No Doubt because I get to see Phantom Planet preform again tonight. And I would have taken more then a roll of pictures at the concert but you see people weren't really allowed to have any camaras in the venue. So, in order to have a better chance of getting a camara into the venue I had dad take one of the desposable camaras and I took the other. And only one of us did got a camara through into the venue. Guess which one of us it was? It was my dad! But the weird things was that I saw a lot of camaras in the venue once I got in...from digital to big zoom lense camaras (and they weren't press people either). And Gwen and the guys came over to both sides of the stage and made sure they were where people could take good pictures of them during the concert. They were posing and everything for us. I mean why do the venues have such a problem with camaras being in the venue when the bands don't seem to mind having/getting their pictures taken. Oh, well, at least dad and I got one through and we are going to go and see how those pictures turned out today. Let's hope that they turn out well.
