WELL
I guess it is time that I update for Laura :)
High School is over! Thank the lord. Summer has been really good so far. I went to Cancun for 5 days and it was the most amazing thing EVER. I am definitely going back again some day. The water is crystal clear and and the view from our balcony was so beautiful. I got to go snorkeling and swimming in an underground river through caves and I also got to swim with DOLPHINS! They are the cutest little animals. The people there are so kind and they love Americans. Being 18 there was pretty amazing I must say. I can't even begin to tell you how many margaritas I consumed throughout the week. Tequila Tequila :) We went to Senor Frogs on our last night there and I had the time of my life there. They make you get up and dance with the waitors and everyone that works there is such a free spirit. They have reggae music playing up on stage and they have drinking contests, which Allison won!!! I was laughing so hard oh my god it was great. She chugged that thing like there was no tomorrow.
The plane ride home was miserable because JFK only had one runway open at the time and we were number 46 in line. My stomach started acting up and let me tell you... what they say about drinking the water in Mexico is SO TRUE. Everyone said I would be fine drinking the hotel water at the restaurants but they were so wrong. It was the worst week of my life.
On the 25th and 26th I went to my orientation at ECU. It was a little boring but it got me more excited about college. Right when I got there they split me up from my mom and put us in small groups with an orientation assistant. It was so weird because this girl that I went to elementary school and church with was in my group! I hadn't seen her in forever. Everyone there is SO country it is hilarious. I guess I'm not around that a lot so it was hard for me not to laugh everytime someone spoke. I got my schedule while I was there. They gave me really good classes considering everyone else was getting really random electives like "The History of the Civil War". Thank goodness I didn't get that! I have 8:00 classes but I really don't mind that. I would rather get up early anyway. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I have Biology, English, and Psychology. Then on Tuesday I have my Biology Lab and on Tuesdays and Thursdays I have Health and Intro to Dance, which is just a dance history kind of class not actually dancing. The Biology lab I am taking is THREE hours long!! At least it is only one day out of the week so I don't have to suffer too much. I am still waiting for my room assignment and roommate information. It should come in the mail either today or tomorrow. I already know some people that go their stuff in the mail last week! I am so jealous because I just wait for the mailman every day and I feel like such a dork.
Lately I have just been hanging out with family. My aunt is in town and my cousin got a new apartment over by her brother so I have been over there a lot. She got a new kitty too! It is so sweet. My cousin Keith just got a job in Florida so he is moving there within the next week. Things are happening so fast it's crazy.
This past weekend I went camping with my dad. We went to Hanging Rock and hiked up there. We are so out of shape. I haven't done something like that in a really long time. It was still really fun though. We cooked porkchops and had corn and broccoli with it. SO GOOD mmm I love camp food. We made coffee out of a little blue camp pitcher and made hot tea. The weather so cool and breezy. It rained a lot too, which kind of sucked but it was still really fun. When we were coming back home we saw a bad motorcycle accident happen. This guy lost control of his motorcycle and he and his wife flew into the air down a hill into some trees. It was the scariest looking thing. We pulled over and got out to see if they were okay. His face was all bloody and he was cursing like crazy. I think he dislocated his shoulder or something but his wife was okay. We had to drive up a hill to get reception so we could call 911. It still gives me chills thinking about it.
I want to do something fun for the 4th of July. I never really do anything for this holiday but I think it is fun to watch fireworks out in a big field. It sucks that you can't buy good fireworks in North Carolina. They only sell those popper things and little sissy ones. Maybe the fairgrounds is doing something good.
That is really all that has been going on so far this summer. I need to get a job. I am a lazy bum.. LAZY!
