Are we talking about me, in my car, being in an accident that is so outrageous on some levels that it is of hollywood-quality? If so, there are plenty of these every year, usually the ones that make the news or.. sadly, youtube. There certainly have been more than 6 in the past century. If we consider me to be part of the population that drives cars (I'm not, but let's say i do drive...) then my chances are certainly higher than one in a billion.
I was assuming they meant me being in an actual hollywood crash with directors in all, which is why I was arguing why it was more than just one in a billion.
They went on to compare it to my actual chances of getting into a regular crash... something like one in six. If you're to say that me+this particular car+this particular time means an extremely rare chance of incidence, then it's also extremely rare (at least rarer than one in six) that I will get into a regular accident in a car at any given time.
Meaning, it would probably be an equal of ratio for a blocked off time and fixed variables like that. I mean, I'm sure some cars have more of a propensity of getting into a Hollywood accident than others.
If we're going to twist the variables, we have to twist it for regular accidents too. I think they were just going for dramatic effect and wanted to drive a car off a building. I won't be bought over by that!
"I mean, I'm sure some cars have more of a propensity of getting into a Hollywood accident than others. " - i was going to finish that though, but I didn't. It wasn't part of my argument.
