Chocolate Macaroons - no bake

Nov 04, 2006 00:04

After my last entry on macaroons, my brother found that recipe I had been trying to track down. A couple of moves and a pair of floods has a way of destroying old family cookbooks. I'm still looking for the banana bread recipe.
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

macaroons, chocolate, recipe

I have to say, thank you soooo much. So many years ago I made up my own macaroon recipe, without bothering to look any up. The macaroons always came out just how I liked them. As Christmas gets closer my fiance keeps pestering me to make more, so I bought all the fixings and went to work... but could not find my recipe. I knew the basics but could not remember my measurments. 3 failed batches later, I finally found this recipe. It is so close to mine, that the second I read it i could picture the exact measurments in my recipe. Mine seems to only vary by adding more cocoa and a bit less sugar, and 4 cups of oatmeal and no coconut. My fiance will be so happy when I surprise him with his favourite cookie when he gets home. Every other recipe I looked at just didn't turn out right. Thank you!

Seriously this is one of those examples where the internet can bring so much joy to the world! :-D

Back to drinking I am... I saw this site with 1001 cocktail recipes and I'd like to try them all before New-Years Eve... Wish me luck!

Hey there...Couldn't find my copy of the best cookie ever, and here you have it! I'm pretty sure it is exactly the same as the one my mum makes! They are awesome, a family favorite, and we never had any teaspoon sizes, always big ones! Thanks for posting this. P.S. I used to live in Cole Harbour, have been in Northern Alberta for 10 years now. I miss the ocean, annd good "family recipes" :)
