Sleep with You

Apr 08, 2009 05:57

Lets see if I can remember this poem I was writing in my head as I was falling asleep earlier.

I need someone to sleep with
need your warmth
your weight on the other side
our arms and legs tangled
your breath on my neck
the top of my head
using your torso as a pillow
sprawling across the top of you
slow caresses lulling me to sleep
rhythmic rocking of the bed
coupled with your heartbeat in my ear
matching my own all but perfectly
thundering in my head
sinking me to darkness and slumber
sleep so good heaven is more than a dream

not all of that was written before I feel asleep, some of it was just added (the last 7 lines, so almost half of it).

writing: poetry
