I decided I wanted to design a room layout for the new apartments Heather and I looked at over last weekend. The rooms are bigger so I thought I'd have more room.
But before I did that I had to measure everything. I popped it all into Photoshop and gave everything a scale of 10 pixels = one inch. I decided to set up my room as it is now.
And then I noticed I did a stupid thing. I set everything up across the shortest part of the room. SO I flipped everything in Photoshop to see how I could have more room.
This is what I came up with.
Only problem - my desk is metal and glass with an open back. It would always have cables showing and I don't like that, even if I do organize them.
So I thought about things I could put on the other side of the desk. The bookshelf would work, but I didn't like the way it looked, and everything else was too small or too big to work and leave the space nice and open.
Then I noticed the way my desk is built. It has a freaking built in curtain rod across the back. (okay it's not a curtain rod, but I'm going to use it as such. I even have an extra pair of curtain panels that match what I already have in the room. so I've been folding and pinning them down so they are as short as I need. I just hope the pins will last until I can get to a sewing machine.
I am on a freaking high right now, I love being creative and figuring things out. But I'm already sweating (it's fucking hot) and I still have to actually move the furniture. Hopefully I won't have to take anything apart. :)
