greetings from lima
Hello friends,
It´s day one in Peru. I finally made it to the house after midnight, completing a 21 hour traveling odyssey. even i could not believe how pathetic i looked hauling three heavy suitcases down broadway in washington heights at 3:40 in the morning yesterday. truly, truly, miserable experience. but i did it! i used only mass transportation to get myself all the way to newark international by 5:30AM - amazing!
lima looks good. people are fatter and happier than i last remember.
i bought my ticket for tumbes and got an excellent price.
tomorrow is family day - lunches and pisco sours and new baby cousins await!
sunday i venture to the north. i am adjusting slowly to the idea of the solitude i´m going to encounter. i hope i do enjoy it. i´m a little anxious. of course.
this is a boring entry - hopefully that will change soon.
