Thanks to all those who expressed their sincere concern about the fate of my skirt. I am deeply grateful and have passed along your warm wishes to little Blanquita, who survived her adventures all the way from Rome to my Washington Heights washtub. She looks beautiful, and she is being worn today at school with a funny purple sweater.
