Dany the museum wanderer mode on!

I was planning on write an entry yesterday, but was too tired and then I forgot^^'.

Yesterday, after an exhausting morning at college (we had almost 3 hours of Man Ray non stop, and even if I like his work, I couldn't wait to get a break^^'. Then we had Esthetic II and started dealing with Nietzsche's Birth of Tragedy...definitely NOT a reading easy to approach when you're feeling sleepy^^') I went to the Fine Arts Museum to start the research on the Russian Avant-Garde, as I'm feeling no-one in my group is motivated to do so. Yup, unfortunately, I tend to get obsessed with my assignments, and I like being in control when working in groups, so I end up dealing with more responsibilities that the ones that correspond me, and consequently people take advantage of tme and enjoy being lazy:/ But I can't complain, as in the end, I learn new stuff tht wouldn't have if I had done a more limited job. Plus,  I'm always proud of the results^__^ I spent the afternoon at their library, reading taking down notes so one of my mates can go on Saturday and photograph the most important pages (because you're not allowed to photocopy more than 20 pages a day, but they will let you take as many phtographs as you want...unbelievable!), and then decided to return home on foot...I must have walked almost 4km, so you can tell why I was tired after all, lol:P In the middle of my promenade, I went pass the National Museum of Decorative Art, and decided to have a look, of course. I ran into 2 college mates and saw 2 expositions, which I liked very much^^

The first one was on a book  of poems by Le Corbusier, Le poeme de L'angle droit (I know I'm missing the accent marks, but I'm too lazy to look where do thay go exactly:P), which was also illustrated by him. The odd thing as that the poems weren't typed, but handwritten and printed as if they were just another visual element in a plastic composition.

(this picture is too small to appreciate anything, but lj's not on my side today, as he won't let me upload the better ones¬¬)

The other exposition was on French rococo sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdon...it's so weird to see these 2 expositions that are the exact opposites in the same building!

Again, this is far from being a high quality picture, but I wanted to explicit the contrast between the expositions...in case you're interested, there are plenty of pics of Houdon's masterpieces on Google, each of them more exquisite than the other:D)

And finally, I crowned and awesome day by buying Le Corbusier's catalogue^^'

exposition, roaming, researching
