Ground control to Major Tom...

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, bleieve it or not...I'm alive!
And before I start trying to do a recap of what's been going on in my life for a month (or so? maybe more?^^'), I'm thanking everyone for your supportive comments on my last entry...thank you SO MUCH, I know I didn't answer every single one of them, but believe me, your responeses were very precious to me and helped A LOT...

It's been 2 weeks since my Mom went under surgery, and fortunately everything went fine. Recovery's taking a bit longer than expected...she still feels a little bit weak, and gets tired very easily, so she barely leaves home, but at least she's okay...Our only (minor) worry now is hoe to keep her distracted, as she obviously gets bored most of the time:P On the plus side, this misfortunate event improved our relationship:D

My term finished last Friday, so it's finals time, folks! Oh boy, this comeback isn't going to last much...Today I had my first final (Esthetics III), and got a 10 (wrote an essay on Terry Eagleton and his ideas on culture/indentity...dunno if it was that subject-related, but my lecturer loved it!), though had to drop out of Design I, as the exam was today too (I hate my college's lack of organisation, I shouldn't be having 2 finals of the same term on the same date!) and I had to present a project for an exhibition...Needless to say, I didn't have the time (nor the imagination, sadly) to do it, so I'll have to leave it for December's call...Next final? Art and Literature I, next Thrusday...oh, this shall be fun!

And last but not least, the highlight of my week: last Monday we had a special visit at work...Just when I was about to close the museum, 2 women came in and introduced themselves...they were (respectively) the director of the Telefonica Foundation (an art Foundation that supports art+technology) and Christine Van Assche, the Chief Curator of the Art Media Department at the Centre Pompidou!!!! Unbelievable. For my co-worker, that signified nothing, to me it was like a dream come true! The reason for Christine's visit was that she was curating an exhibition at the Telefonia Foundation consisting of instalations and videos from the Pompidou's patrimony, and after giving her and Claudia (the director of the Telefonica Foundation) a guided tour at the museum, I was invited to the exhibition opening, wchi was today. Guess what? Not only did Claudia recognised me (which I was afraid she wouldn't), but also introduced me to a couple of persons that seemed important (too many elegantly dressed people...even the French Ambassador was present!) as "the lovely girl I told you about that gave us the tour at the Cloisters Museum", and gave me her personal card, telling me to send her my CV so that in case "anything appeared" she would "take me into account". Couldn't be more excited! Oh, the exhibition was great, btw.

Plans for tomorrow? No studying, tons of cooking. Having my monthly cookery meeting with my darling Jesi Jessjustjesi  (we're making ricotta cake!) and cooking dinner for my friend Marcos, who broke his leg just about a week before my Mom's surgery and is unable to do anything for about 2 months (could it be possible that I'm jinxed, and everyone around me gets sick/broken??:P).

Hope everyone's okey, and I promise I'll at least try to catch up with your entries...I missed hearing from you a lot!!!
