Hey, I don't care 'bout your sensitivity!
This entry mainly consists of me (pointlessly) bitching, but I've got to spit it out.
Today I was supposed to buy a DVD for my Mom, but forgot due to anxiety towards my Italian final (which I passed with a 10...yeah baby!)
A normal person would've told me "Hey, it doesn't matter, it's totally understandable"...but my Mom is not normal.
I usually go to the market for her, pay her bills, look up information she needs, cook for her, wash the dishes, go fetch her photocopies/go to the photocopy place to leave some books, and from time to time I even do stuff she's supposed to do down town/go to her workplace to look for her paycheck...but that didn't stop her from calling me selfish because I forgot to buy her the stupid DVD. I swallowed my pride because I didn't want to have an arguement with her, but then she called Santiago and me to ask us another favour...and that was it. It's not that the favour she was asking for was hard to carry out, but the tone was plainly irritating. Here's a recreation of what happened:
Mom: Guys, I want you to ask for underground maps whenever you take the underground, because I need them immediately and they won't hand in more than one per person. I only have 2, but I need 8, so could you get the others for me? Will it be possible for you not to forget this time?
Dany: Oh, I'm SO sorry I didn't bought your DVD, it's just I was TOO bussy minding my own bussiness! I forgot I also have to mind your own!
Mom: I need them for Friday, so make an effort.
Dany: Hey, you shouldn't be complaining after all I've done for you lately, specially if you consider I had to make things twice because of silly you (long story short: she ask me to go someplace to charge some money, but forgot to tell the lady I was charging to that I was going, so obviously no-one was expecting me when I showed up at the supposedly "arranged time", and had to return again¬¬).
Mom: Okey, I'm sorry, but I need to count on you this time. Don't you feel bad when you're depending on someone and that someoe lets ou down?
Dany: That's why I never ask YOU for favours.
That was the last thing I told her, and since then she's applying me the Silent Treatment. Thanks Mom, I love you too.
