So today I'd decided to return home from college on foot (which equals walking more or less and is my only way to keep sort of fit^^') and I had already done half the way, when I stumbled (stupid flagstone¬¬) and one of my flip-flops broke down. Just my luck! I had only $4, so couldn't afford buying another pair (didn't see any shop selling them anyways) and the nearest underground stop was 3 blocks away. I tried dragging my feet, and even going jumping on one foot, but looked silly and was impossible to keep on doing it for a long time. Walking barefoot was clearly not an option (filthy filthy streets!). I sat down (yup, in the middle of the street!) to think straight/try to remember where the nearest bus stop with destination to my home was, when the solution to my problem magically came to me. I heard a voice saying "Do you need any tape?", looked up and found a man staring at me with roll of Scotch tape in his hand. Unbelievable! In conclussion, he taped my foot to my flip-flop, and I was able to take the underground and return home more or less comfortably. Yay!
(Conclussion Nº2: I'll never wear flip-flops in public again, hell no!)
