I realize a person usually has to be in the mood to read an angsty piece, so I really need to warn you -- this is super, super angsty. About the most angst-filled piece I've ever written, which I guess isn't saying much because I usually don't write angst. I could have Vala get a hangnail or Daniel get a papercut and it would by angsty compared to

I've had this couplet of scenes written for six months to a year now. I just haven't had the backstory or afterstory fleshed out yet. I think I was going to put it into the other "Unending" fic I'm partially writing, whenever I get back to it I mean. But yeah, one of the reasons I haven't posted til now is because I was afraid people would be too confused without some kind of reason for Cam to do these unspeakable things. In the end, I hoped people could remember how upset and awful he looked in some of those montage scenes and make the connection themselves. I'm glad you did. :)
Your backstory would fit really well. And I'm so relieved you understood that Vala knew what she was doing was wrong, but she honestly loves these people. She'd do anything to help if it's within her power.
Thank you for understanding Daniel too. This would only happen in "Unending." There'd be some sort of double homicide/suicide going on if it happened in their normal everyday lives. And Cam wouldn't even go to this place if they weren't stuck on the Odyssey. So yeah, they're all slightly out of character, but only because this ship is probably the worst kind of torture.
Yeah, I don't know if the threesome ever happens. To be honest, the inspiration for this story was a conversation with kehwie about what a threesome for them would look like. They're such pretty people you want to imagine them in a threesome, sorta, but with Daniel and Vala clearly in love, Cam would definitely feel like he was getting a pity invite. So, I suppose I actually wrote this as some kind of believable set up. But yes, until I get the nerve to write it, where they all go from here is totally up to the reader. :) Major anti-depressants is a logical next step. Kinda makes you wonder what they did for those 50 years without a trained doctor onboard. I think the writers were on crack when they wrote this episode. *shakes head sadly*

Daniel: [holding up his beer and examining it] Ever heard of the festival of {insert something historic}?
Vala: [pouring another passion fruit martini] No, darling. Is it interesting or boring?
Daniel: Well...
Cam: Wait, before you start, let me grab another beer so it'll be easier to pretend I'm listening.
