So if you ever read "Did I Shave My Legs for This?," this little ditty is also based on a song and it has also been floating around my head in several different forms for quite a few months. Here's hoping my laptop doesn't freeze on me; I have to leave for work in a half-hour. :(

Vala blinked, confused. She remembered running away and turning her head back to see where the bad guys were... But why was Daniel holding a woman and crying? Who was that woman any...
Oh.
She was dead.
So many times in the past SG-1 had died it was almost laughable. And never permanent. All she had to do was wait and her team, her Daniel, would bring her back.
Watching him hold her body, crying, begging her to stay with him (with him, not with them) touched her. Sam and Teal'c and Cameron... all of the SGC... had mentioned just how upset Daniel had become while she had lost her memory thanks to the Trust. She hadn't really believed them; just let their words wash through her. Now she understood. Pain gripped his face and she knew he wouldn't sleep properly for days if she didn't return to her body; just like the last time.
Funny how life did things like that...
Vala had been perfectly happy in her little town on her little planet, with her little fiance. Until the Goa'uld had captured her and Qetesh had stolen her life and her body. "You use sex as a weapon," Daniel had said. Well no wonder... She'd met the man of her dreams; then met his beautiful wife. Yeah she was dead, but how was Vala to compete with Daniel's perfect Shar'e? All she had was her sexual flirtation. It got her what she wanted (in most scenarios) and kept the wall around her heart strong. SG-1 had become her family and Vala could hardly get any happier.
While Daniel may never love her like that at least she could be near him; his friendship was enough.
Vala wanted more; she would always want more.
But if he didn't love her like that, why was he weeping over her nearly-lifeless body in such a manner?
She tilted her head and shook it once, dispelling her thoughts.
Reaching out her hand, she tentatively touched her physical body with her incorporeal hand.
There was a blindingly bright flash of light - !
Vala jerked upward and banged her head against Daniel's. Clutching the offended forehead he reeled back and said, "Ow! Vala?!"
Blinking away her confusion as the past few minutes slipped away from her memory, Vala opened her mouth. "Daniel. I - I... Aw hell." She grabbed his face with both hands and kissed him, hard. She could fell her Daniel's face shift from shock-surprise to what-the-hell-surprise. His eyebrows rose and his eyes darted back and forth twice. Finally he relaxed and Vala pulled away. "I love you Daniel and I promise, stitch my heart, that I'm not playing your or playing with you. I won't leave you. I want you."
"I... uh... Vala..."
Silly archeo-linguist; Vala simply kissed him again and this time Daniel closed his eyes and wrapped his arms around her.
