diaspora

the diaspora project launches sometime in October. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it's an open source project designed to kill Facebook by providing an alternative that gives us both legal and cryptographic control of our own data. They also say they're working hard on a UI that makes it easy to decide what content goes to your drinking buddies and what content goes to your coworkers, which is really important to me.

If I were to run a diaspora instance (which would be linked with other diaspora instances to "feel" like a unified diaspora service and which would have scrapers and publishers for your existing social networks), would any of you be interested in joining it?
