The Princess and the Frog WAS BLEEPING AMAZING!!!
First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! May 2010 bring you all happiness, success, and love!
Sorry this is a tad bit late. But on New Years Eve, me and my girlfriends went out to go see The Princess and the Frog finally! And I was so blown away! As an artist and future animator I was extremly impressed with Disney, but then again I expect nothing less from Ron Clements, John Musker, and John Lasseter; those three are incredible! I will not talk TOO much about the movie because IDK if any of you have seen it yet and if not I don't wanna spoil anything but know that the movie is worth every penny for your movie ticket and then some!
As a black girl I have been especially anticipating this film since this is our first black princess. Although I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Belle, Princess Tiana is just sooooo cool! She reminds me so much of me, and she's so pretty! For once I actually wish I was a little darker in skin tone because if I was, I could properly cosplay her green lilly-pad wedding dress. But I can't. Oh well. At least I can STILL cosplay as Charlotte! LMAO! XD
It has been such a very long time since I was so taken away with the beauty and artistic merrit of an animated film. The last time I was was when Howls Moving Castle came out but that was about 6 years ago and a Miyazaki film at that. I have not been so taken away with a Disney film since The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast but those movies came out 10+ years ago! Ever since Disney has stopped making good films and started making superficial crap like HSM, Camp Rock, and Hannah Montana, I have really begin to question if Disney could really return back to the magic that first captivated me as a child and first inspired me to become an artist.
I am pleased to say that with this most recent film, it has! When I saw it it was like I was a child again watching a movie with my family, feeling that first wave of inspiration all over again. That was rather nostalgic, and so wonderfil. I feel inspired all over again and have been drawing alot and getting new art supplies lately which is why I have neglected to write until now.
BUT that's not the only thing I have been buying. GUESS WHAT I FOUND IN HOT TOPIC RIGHT BEFORE THE FILM:
I AM SO BLEEPING HAPPY!!!!! I knew that they were at SOME Hot Topic shops but I never guessed that it would be at the one at the mall near my house! They must have been selling well because this was the LAST one in my size! Doubble the happiness! I also got one for little sis since she is now a fan. She's so happy and I feel like such a good one-chan! When I went to pay for them this girl next to me shrieked and begged me to show her were they were. I guess she was a fan too. Haha. I saw a skirt on Bodyline's webside that I think would go perfectally with this and it's only $12! I think now I will buy it! Now all I need is to preorder Jubilee and for Versailles to come back to the US and then I will be in complete bliss! ^_^
