Mm, from what my friends kept telling me, the TV show didn't do the books justice. I never got a chance to watch the show myself before it got canceled, and I'm only just now starting on Storm Front, so I guess I can't really judge. XD;
I'm a fan of both the TV series and the books, but that's because I think of them as alternate universes to each other because there are some characters that are in both places (Harry, Murphy, Bob, and Morgan to name a few) but there are differences that are too big to have them both set in the same universe.
And I'm a shameless Terrence Mann fan so it's cool seeing the guy I think of as being in so many different musicals play a snarky ghost.
And a recommendation if you like the books, the audio books are read by James Marsters and they're also awesome.
