not so gone
It has been quite a while since I have updated here! My computer at work quit allowing me to get into LJ, and by the time I get home the last thing I want to do is sit in front of the computer so more. So, what has happened since I last updated?
James took his final test of the year and did well. Not as well as he would have liked but still well enough. He started getting summer fever.
I went to Maryville over Memorial Day weekend to throw a baby shower for my brother and sister-in-law. The baby is due July 22, you can view updates about the pregnancy and stuff on their website. James was not able to come with me as his father was diagnosed with a rheumatological disease and was still in the hospital at the time having tests run. He is doing well now, still not his old self, but better. He has an appointment at the Mayo Clinic on July 10, which James is going to accompany his parents to as well.
June 5-8 we went on a cruise to the Bahamas with another couple whom we knew at Martin and the husband just graduated medical school here in Memphis. It was a lot of fun and I definitely recommend that as a good, all-inclusive vacation plan.
James is currently volunteering at Lakeshore Methodist camp this week for Sr. High camp so I am home alone with just the cat. Speaking of the cat, I had to take her in for her yearly shots yesterday. They gave her three shots, plus a vaccine that was drops in her nose, plus they administered her heartworm medicine for me as well. Needless to say I did not have a happy kitty cat. Unfortunately she is still not a very happy kitty. I think that one of the shots was really painful to her as she has been just moping around since I brought her home and I noticed her being pretty gentle with one of her back legs earlier today. I’m sure it will wear off soon, it just has me worried.
Anyway, that is about all from out here. My mom is coming out to stay with me Thursday night thru Sunday morning so that should be fun. Since I have been gone so long I do have one quick question for devilwrites… you haven’t gotten married yet and I’ve missed it, right? J
