Interesting start!
5th driest year on record, hottest November then cooler December and then yesterday enough hail in 30 minutes to leave drifts still frozen nearly 24 hrs later. We came home from celebrating at my parents, happy because of good food, good company and 3 hours of rain to find a totally white garden and the end of our street blocked off by hail and leaves. Very exciting :) Children impressed, cats not so sure...
This morning there was much raking and sweeping - a shame in a way as for the first time in ages we have a green base to the garden - unfortunately it's composed of all the leaves shreaded from the trees and my plum, which I've been babying through the drought, is now totally denuded.
We were lucky and got minimal water damage in the house (Alison had a river through her garage).
This new year looks to be anything but boring!
