It's lovely weather -- so nice that I feel bad making the children go to school and occasionally take them out so we can to something theoretically educational but really fun like walk in the Rose Gardens (history) or around the lake (geology, city planning).
I kidnapped my parents the other day and went to the Botanic Gardens which will shortly be the only place with GREEN LAWN in the whole city -- children will be taken to view it on school excursions!
Today we hit the museum to look at the Hans Christian Anderson display which turned out to be very static, minimalist and didactic. Fortunately there was also a display of the best of the past 12 month's Political Cartoons which was brilliant.
Then went to the zoo where the cooler weather has encouraged the snow leopards to actually walk around, which was great after months of visiting to see them slumbering And the red pandas were pacing up and down just like my cats while their keeper got their food organised. And the little reddish finches in the bushes are just as enthralling as the giraffes!
I'm also ecstatic because I bought two pairs of jeans! It's been years since I last had jeans...
