Grrrrr
I stopped to get my 1.5-weekly petrol top up for the scooter on my way home tonight.
$5.91 and 3.49 litres, thankyouverymuch. :D
Having broken the bank forking out for the petrol bill, I went back to put my helmet on and continue home. This involves taking my glasses off, placing them on the seat of my scooter, putting helmet on and then putting my glasses back on. Oh, and doing up the helmet is usually a good idea.
There was a massive gust of wind. And my 1 month old, $790* pair of glasses blew off the damn seat and landed on the forecourt. As did my gloves. The gloves were not harmed. The glasses are all scratched up across the top of each side, to the point you can see a fair bit of silver.
I've been scooting to work since October, and this had to happen after I'd replaced my 4 year old, well worn frames. Uggggggggghhhhhhhh.
At least the lenses are fine. >_<
*Cost breakdown:
$400 lenses because yes, my eyes ARE that broken
$300 frames (far from the most expensive ones the optometrist had)
$90 consult fee
In less annoying news, I've ordered some prescription sunglasses from 39dollarglasses.com. $160 NZD!! I can't order from any of the really cheap places online like Zenni or goggles4u etc because none of those sites do prism in their lenses. And I need prism or I see double. But it'll be nice not to have to wear clip-ons. :D
