Life on Mars glee
I have just watched ep 4 of season 2 of Life on Mars.
OMG OMG.
Seriously, this is going into my top 10 series ever. I have tons of meta, I have tons of shippy squee (Annie/Sam, OMG, the adorableness), and I have so much admiration for how this is both one of the most mind-bending things I've ever seen, and yet is grounded and funny and sad. But above all, I have SO MUCH love for Sam Tyler, who is both one of the most functional and awesome and at the same time one of the most messed up (especially if this is supposed to be in his head) characters ever.
Also, swingers (topic of ep 4's murder) suck. I was almost physically uncomfortable. But it was worth it to see Sam and Annie all fake-coupley and Sam be all protective and jealous. Heeee. And oh God, Gene Hunt is so id but I love him. I do have meta on alienation and sexism (Sam is popular with women because he is the only one who sees them as people, the rest of the cops see them as sex-objects, nothing else) and mirror narrative. But it's late so I'll post a few caps instead.
A few largely shippy caps. Mainly because it's such a treat to see Sam smile because he is so intense and messed up so much.

Pretend-inventing their back history, including first dates, as a couple, to 'infiltrate.' When she says he was a virgin when they hook up, they both crack up like mad and so do I:
