As promised, I bring you more photos of Japan. I went camera mad.
One of the many reasons Japan is cooler than here. I have never seen so much amazing food as I had on the lower level of this upscale department store in Ginza:
Just look at the sushi!
Other food:
And the desert:
Quieter part of Ginza:
And there are a lot of trendy billboards there (you can see a KAT-TUN phone ad in the background):
They close the main road on weekends so people can sit around. Which we did, with our yummy lunch:
It actually forms a really neat pedestrian area:
And as always, there are people (here it's the girl in pink) handing out sanitary tissues. No idea why but it was awesomely helpful. I accumulated a stack :):
See, sitting area:
I loved people watching when we were there and taking people pictures:
Seriously, so pretty!
In the background, there is an unfortunate man wearing a teddy-bear suit. I keep thinking Fumoffu :P
I love capturing moments in lives of strangers. In this case a waiting young man:
One of the sidestreets. And a woman with a parasol (lots of people had them):
Even street-signs can become exotic if you are not used to them:
That is just whaaaaa?
I love the roofs and the odd crowdedness of the buildings and did you notice how clean this is?
This pic mainly cracks me up as I have no idea who Orange Shirt is but it looks like someone travelling with me who I asked to pose for a photo :P
Poster in the subway. Any idea what movie this is for? It looks good:
More people (this time around Asakusa temple). Told you I like shots of strangers:
I have yet to figure out what that weird yellow thing on that one roof is:
Crowds outside the temple precincts:
Tourists taking a photo with a good-natured young couple dressed in traditional clothes:
The impressive entrance to Asakusa temple itself:
One of my fave pics. The traditionally dressed couple going through the busy market that forms at the entrance to the temple. You could just transform them a hundred or more years back and they wouldn't be out of place:
Inside the temple/grounds:
Koi in the pond:
Peaceful despite the crowds:
Or crowded despite the peace:
People rinsing their mouths before entering:
I love the fact that there are very modern buildings in the background:
People praying in the background, and in foreground, where you throw coins:
Tying prayers:
I love how beautiful even the doors are:
And right outside the temple, you plunge into the marketplace, selling everything, from fans with JE boys' faces on them to this, which are awesome wigs:
And rows and rows of sandals:
This, ladies and gents, is whale meat. There is a whale meat store in that small area:
An interested customer?
The policemen having a bit of a chat:
I have yet to figure out the roof:
A display in a store selling swords:
View (from the huge subway station) on one of the big intersections in Shibuya, where the cool young things hang out, apparently.
Inside the ginormous Shibuya subway station:
To be continued...
