YES!!! Someone else who prefers Scott/Jean over Jean/Logan(well, in the movies...in the comics, all 3 bore me to tears...the only exception is when Wolverine is around Jubilee, but Jackman and Madsen make them work
( ... )
I got sidtracked with Basara because I want to finish SDK and B+ first.
And OMG that full body kiss...I swear, the girl almost got her wedding night(I blame her being irked about being deprived of that for a lot of her behavior in the second movie)
Oh yes.
Re: Will/Elizabeth. I like my ships to be functional. There should be outside forces and what not but they should be inherently stable. I can see them together ten years later. J/E? No way.
Aye. I figured that was the case(and don't blame you...and you should have the manga there or almost there because the anime got flatout cancelled-they ended production expecting season 2 so it ends on a cliffhanger and you should have "what happened next" available)
I like my ships either insanely disfunctional, or functional with outside influences. Get rid of the pesky pirates, and Will/Elizabeth is perfectly normal and comfy. In manga, get rid of all those silly interfering things like, you know, plot, and Kyo/Tohru, Shuri/Sarasa, Miaka/Tamahome, etc. are pretty much normal kids falling for each other.
Here's how I see Jack/Elizabeth if it happens: A month or two of hot sex, then one night he gets too drunk, she tosses all the rum overboard and they're 3 weeks from port, huge fight, and then they kill each other.
So, I'm not saying I don't appreciate her badass-ness. I'm just saying that I don't understand why they covered her in dirt for the entire PotC III trailer. Honey! Scrub your face.
I always saw POTC 2 as a character assassination of Elizabeth. I did not appreciate the implied Jack/Elizabeth because it was just pointless to me. The first movie had already established that Elizabeth and Will were deeply in love and perfect for each other so her obvious attraction to Jack, while she's still declaring true love for Will, made no sense. Mary Jane's kiss with Harry made sense in context, as Peter wasn't being supportive, but Elizabeth seeming to mess around with Jack had no basis, as she has ALWAYS been Will's only focus and he thinks of nothing OTHER than her. This is why I was so disappointed in POTC 2, since they tried to keep the "omg Elizabeth and Will love each other SO MUCH" at the same time doing the "but she might love Jack".
I didn't mind the J/E implication because I think a lot of it they were trying to misdirect the audience so when the kiss would happen we'd be all shocked that she acrually used it to trick Jack to chain him to the ship.
I could buy the unwitting attraction: there is something similar in the two of them, and it's very free and she is a frustrated frustrated girl (who wouldn't be when deprived of wedding night with Orlando Bloom). But I never got the sense that it was anything more than that. She is still fixated on and in love with Will. I cannot see her ever doing to him what she did to Jack at the end, e.g.
Of course, I reserve the right to change my mind and be annoyed after the third movie. We'll see. But that trailer with the kissing on deck looked mighty promising :)

I'd definitely take Will. He is much more stable. But not weak at all.

Plus, they are so obsessed with each other.
