Yes, I'll reply to all the fanfic thoughts posts. I just need to get my thinky cap on.
1. There are rumors that there will be a third season of Hana Yori Dango. I don't know what I think about it, except for amusement that Hanadan will clearly never die.
2. There is a Veronica Mars hate meme going around. You know the fandom is dying when even that is anemic.
3. When is vol 2 of Vampire Knight coming around? Ditto for more Absolute Boyfriend and Genbu Kaiden. Yes, I've read the scanlations (though I've been hoarding VK scanlations until I can binge), but it's not the same. I really want to do a list of the manga I like.
4. Ayashi No Ceres!!!! Still rocks. Aya/Toya is my shiniest OTP now (which is deja vu, as they were when I watched the anime).
As I mentioned in a reply to
meganbmoore, I love the scene where she goes looking for him, only to find him all beaten up in an alley because he got attacked by the Mikage people but wouldn't kill them because he was remembering her slapping him (I love how she makes him learn to be human, which is fitting as he isn't after all).
And she is all freaked about him being so hurt and feels so bad about what she said/did and wants to take him to a hospital but he'd rather she took him home and gave him first aid herself. So she does and OMG OMG OMG there are love confessions, and kissing, and holding each other, and both of them are beat up (and I love how he is the one held together by glue and string but he is flipping out about the bandage on her arm) and the whole thing (which is so realistic) of them not being able to really understand why the other person loves them so (for her, because he is so good-looking he could have anyone, and for him it's because she could be with so many good, normal guys) and they are all unsure and it's awesome.
And then they make love and she feels like she can't breathe. *dies* It's a good thing I was reading it with no people around because that was a heck of a lovemaking scene. Mmmm. *blushes*
I especially love the bit where she wakes up in the morning and he is still sleeping and she checks herself out in the mirror and she is all 'I don't look any different' but then she sees hickeys all over her body, going lower and lower and lower...and she is going 'he is good' when she hears his voice 'like what you see?'
EEEEE.
*dies*
Seriously, best manga sequence EVER. And it's 16 pages long. Heh.
EVER.
And now they won't part because he is worried she'll get hurt.
AWESOME.
GUUUUH.
And then in Vol. 8 he tells her he doesn't want to remember (because he knows she is worried restoring his memory would take him away) and she is the one that taught him to feel because before he didn't feel anything: about killing, about taking care of himself. And they meet on that island and there is more love-making. I was reading it on the train and it was a bit...heeee (I was squishing pages together so people wouldn't see). It seems that once she started, there is going to be a love scene in every volume. Yay! Makes sense as they are young and madly in love and each day might be their last. But yeah, definitely see why Aya ends up preggers.
But of course, then they are walking and he is hit by a car (and he's been having these memory-related headaches) and the cross she gave him, very symbolic, snaps, and he wakes up not remembering her and this other girl says he's her bf and he remembers her and OMG. Aya is all brave faced but she is falling apart and Yuhi offers to go out with her and there is hair cutting and Aya awesomeness and just GUUUUH. And poor Toya is totally gone, and totally confused. I love the scene where Yuhi comes to see him and tells him he (Yuhi) will now make Aya his, and Toya has no reaction and Yuhi is all 'you really are gone.'
And the worst for Aya is she can't blame Toya for anything, for the loss, for the forgetting of last year in recovering his previous memory (though of course I know how it all turns out).
How very Buffy, in a way (seriously, between FY and AnC, I am beginning to wonder if Joss and Watase are the same person only one of them is a Japanese woman).
EEEE.
5.
hope-fuleigh's watch of Fushigi Yuugi is making me want a rewatch. I started with
tatterpunk but then she had to leave.
6. Next manga on the list after AnC? Basara.
meganbmoore finally convinced me :)
7. I started rewatching Buffy's S1 Finale yesterday. So awesome. More meta comin' up.
8. TOYA. Yes. (LOL at Watase admitting in Vol. 8 that he's her fave). Someone needs to do an AnC live action. Starring Takki as Toya (yes, he's the one I wanted for Tamahome, too. I just think he looks like a Watase bishounen). Horihita Maki can be Aya. Yamapi would actually make awesome Yuhi, but then I'd have to ship Yuhi/Aya and that can't be.
