If you are looking for storage for your doramas, I don't suggest buying memory for your computer. Rather, buy external hardrive(s). These will plug into our machine (make sure that you get ones that have the right connections. For ex. If you computer has a Firewire/IEEE 1394 port, definitely buy an external with Firewire - it's faster than USB, but most computers have a USB port).

I own 2 Maxtor II external hard drives, one is 250 Gig and the other is 300 Gig, and they are dual interface so they have USB/Firewire. Sadly both of them are nearly full and the 300G is only 4 months old. O_O One more word of advice. Buy as many gigs as you can, or buy more than one, because I promise you, you will fill it, if you end up loving doramas as I do. You can do google searches to research how consumer sites rate these hard drives as well, because you want reliable.

Thanks for the recs. I have a USB port, need to check about IEEE. Where do you buy yours btw, and what is a good price, because I have no idea....

I've bought mine (as well as many of my electronics in general) off Amazon - they usually have a pretty good return policy if there are any problems, good prices and good selection. In general, you shouldn't spend more than $1/gig, but you can sometimes do better than that. Just shop around and I'm sure you can find some good deals, but definitely read consumer info (or even look at magazines at the bookstore if they have articles on external HD reccs). Many PC magazines do regular reviews of these products so you can see what is good and reliable now.

Thank you! That is amazingly helpful. I don't need to get the memory this weekend or anything, so I am just going to go and look at some magazines this weekend and decide what I want and then get it later. Gosh, this hobby is the craziest one yet, in terms of things I end up buying :)
