Still dwelling on Meteor Garden.
Shan Cai, I know you are still confused about your feelings for DMS, so to help you along, here’s a little pro-con equation.
He is rude and arrogant and he doesn’t know how to interact with most people, nor does he care about them. And he has a mother from hell who would make your married life pretty difficult. HOWEVER, he is good-looking, rich, madly in love with you, will always take care of you and has proven beyond doubt that he is willing to die to protect you.
Do the math.
Also, I realized I never did a post on the last episode and a half of MARS and I like to be thorough, so here it is:
Mmmm, we did have a stabbing (which Ling, of course, survived) and a wedding (awwww), in that order. I love that we didn’t see Qi-Luo and Ling’s wedding. We just see them munch on sandwiches and find out they’ve been married for a year. I know the show probably did it for budgetary reasons, but that struck me as so in character for both of them: Qi-Luo couldn’t care less about ceremony, and Ling hasn’t met a formality he didn’t want to wreck. And I adore the ending, with them being in Japan at the races and he walks out to the races, dressed in his racing get-up, and she is with him, and he picks her up easily (I love how he is huge and she is tiny) and holds her. And she asks him “Do you still think the world will end some day?” And he looks at her and replies “I don’t know. But I don’t care as long as you stay with me.” And they both laugh. And they are happy and functional and have beaten their demons and are totally adorable.
DMS (Jerry Yan):
Ohhh, my poor angsty OTP:
And now we get to MARS.
Chen Ling (Vic Zhou):
One of my favorite scenes from MARS:
And I was definitely sniffling at that one:
And just because they are an OTP of that show:
