So, I went to see The Host because I am fond of both post-apocalyptic set ups and cheesy make outs. OMFG was this movie boring. It was so boring that at one point I started counting the light fixtures. They should have let whoever made the awesome trailer make the movie

I hated the Twilight books, (I started reading number 2 and then was all... what the crap? Why am I reading this?!? Never touched them again) but when I gave "The Host" a try it was a lot better. It didn't make me want to tear my hair out and yell bad things anyway. ;)

"They should have let whoever made the awesome trailer make the movie." Excellent! I avoid trailers wherever possible because they're even worse than book blurbs at revealing major plot points which you shouldn't find out until half way through. And these days they have all the best bits so there are none left for the film itself.

Loved the book. Hated the movie. Like... They followed some events and gave the characters a little bit of their book personality.. But if you haven't read the books, you miss a lot of context... :/

I wouldn't even know about this movie, except that it has Saoirse Ronan. Hopefully, she won't get the same backlash as KStew got for Twilight. (Though the boost to her career would be nice.)
