1. Ep 6 of Can We Get Married continued the adorable streak, even though I had no caps as no moment particularly stood out. I have a feeling at the end of the drama, we will have two couples - aunt and the motorcycle guy and, of course, our main couple. It's clear the oldest sister and her husband are on the road of no return to the divorce court and I don't think Dong Bi and Ki Joon will end up together either - he clearly is a status-conscious snob so even if it turned out Dong Bi's Dad is a super-chaebol (as I think the drama hints he is), do we want her with someone who will only marry her then?
I do loathe the mothers more and more with each ep and wish the characters from Five Fingers took a timeout from their vendettas and ganged up on them instead.
2. Speaking of Five Fingers, while there are 4 episodes left, I am going to hurry and make my prediction that at some point before the end, Yoo Manse is going to appear from beyond the grave to gloat at how he caused his family to self-destruct.
3. So, Nice Guy ended today, and apparently, the fandom is freaking out because there was no kissing, hugging or baby-making. Oh, people - it's a Lee Kyung Hee drama, you should thank whatever deity you follow that it didn't end up in a pile of corpses. And the OTP isn't just alive, they are together. In a LKH drama, that is pretty much a miracle. I confess I have no interest to go back and catch up on the last 4 or so episodes. I can acknowledge how well the drama was made, but emotionally it never truly grabbed me - I think the drama was detached from the characters and thus, so was I. The fact that they weren't likeable or relatable for me, didn't help. I will put it into "Slingshot" category - excellently made but very much not my thing.
4. Nice Guy's replacement, Jeon Woo Chi, released a 13-minute trailer today. To say I am underwhelmed would be an understatement. It's not even about Cha Tae Hyun (because I figure that horse isn't just dead but pulverized), it's about how shoddy and cheap it all looks. I don't demand every drama look like Chuno or earlier episodes of Arang, but in the year where even modern dramas like Love Rain, Nice Guy and I Miss You have gorgeous cinematography, having your drama look like something that was filmed circa 1985 is not a good sign. I mean, it makes Dr. Jin and the weekend dramas look lush. Plus, it just looks disjointed.

5. I am totally obsessed with I Miss You. I just wish I had all of it to gobble at once. It has that sweet-spot combo of being utterly dark and dysfunctional and yet giving me the leads I care ridiculously deeply for. Though I have to say that much as I love Yoon Eun Hye and Yoochun, I am not sure how they will live up to the sheer jaw-dropping brilliance of Yeo Jin Gu and Kim So Hyun. Because those kids are going to be huge huge huge stars someday.
Also, I know a number of flisties were going to be possibly skipping ep 3 due to the subject matter of the eps, so I bring you caps from the kidnapping etc sequence, in case you want to make up your mind if it's too much. Also, because those kids knocks my socks off in those scenes.
They are kidnapped and try to bolster each other up, but then the kidnapper comes in and she gets raped as he cannot do anything but watch (during that whole sequence, thankfully you see nothing but his face, and that is harrowing enough)...
He manages to escape, leaving her behind. That scene and her face kill me. He calls the dispatcher for help for her, but has to run and hide before he can finish the call as the kidnappers show up. And his father finds him and refuses to go back and help, and hits him when he persists. And Soo Yeon manages to escape and gets hit by nurse's car...There are funerals cheerier than this drama.
And at home, he continues to plead and his father refuses to yield, so he is just left there to bang his head on the floor over and over.
Next morning isn't much better. I think that parental relationship is broken for good now. And he blames himself for running off and saving himself. Which just breaks my heart and makes me angry - he is a kid! It's not his fault! It's all the evil adults who should burn.
Preview. When he stretches his hands to be cuffed by Soo Yeon's father...my heart!!! Yeo Jin Gu should win all the awards, honestly.
