Casting people are clearly doing drugs

The latest news about Joo Won's spy drama is that Choi Kang Hee is considering being his leading lady.

?!?!?!

OK, the age difference between the two is 10 years (CKH was born in 1977 and Joo Won in 1987). That, in and of itself is not a deal-breaker for me - I have enjoyed the pairing in King 2 Hearts with the same age difference and am currently obsessed about Faith, where the age difference is also roughly the same.

Still, my reaction is a horrified no!!!!

1. I am OK with a younger man/older woman love story if it's presented as such (Majo no Jouken is one of my favorite dramas). Alternatively, if somehow the actors can convince me they look the same age despite the age difference, I am on board (the leads of K2H had a decade between them but they looked the same age). BUT! There is no way on God's green earth Choi Kang Hee (who looks old for her age) and Joo Won (who looks his age - he is no Lee Min Ho who can pull off playing older in Faith or elsewhere) look like they are the same age yet, according to the story, they are supposed to be. They met in college! What, she was his professor?

2. Choi Kang Hee looks older than her age. I don't find her either good-looking or sexy. Sge looks ahjumma-frumpy. She actually looked too old for Ji Sung, in Protect the Boss, and Ji Sung is her age. I can think of a million gorgeous 30+ actresses - Kim Tae Hee, Kim Ha Neul, Kim Sun Ah, Kim Hee Sun (all the beautiful women have the last name Kim? :)) Choi Kang Hee is not on the list. Buying her as a sexy, femme fatale spy gorgeous enough to snag someone a decade younger (or, I suppose playing someone way younger than her years) - I cannot buy it.

I think she'd be wrong for the role even if they cast a 3-+ actor, tbh. The thought of her opposite Joo Won, however, elevates this to the level of madlibs.
