I think she always plays a sad yet upbeat free spirit that is very odd - even in ALTK. I think she's good at one thing and sticks to it.

A combination of creativity of heaven/hell/afterworld scenes and LJK's quiet grief after Arang disappears and his joy when she appears alive. I think I like SMA's Arang best in small dozes - she is a ghost take on manic pixie dream girl and a little of that goes a loooong way.

The preview for next week has me freaking out! And I'm convinced the woman in that room is Eun Oh's mother. Possibly just a body possessed, though if she's something "different" that could explain why he can see ghosts - like Arang still can, too.

People said the actress was miscast for being EO's mother but maybe not. I also think she is the woman locked in that room.

If she is evil she totally fits the role, I hated her so much on Can you hear my heart.

Now I'm wondering if she is some kind of evil creature with a smidge of familial decency and she sent Eun Oh away to save his life? And acquired Joo Wol as a minion instead or something.

That would explain why he can see ghosts, which is a pretty odd skill.

It got past the weird plot setup of -how is a human falling in love with a ghost work?- angle!

But seriously, the crazy fantasy elements are amazing.
And just an educated guess, and other people are probably thinking it as well, but I totally believe that JooWal killed her-or at least stabbed her before she ran off- and his father knows about it.

I actually have a feeling that Eun Oh's mother had more to do with Arang's death than anyone else; maybe she didn't do the actual killing but was the main catalyst for whatever reason. Or was at least working together with one of the two.

I was connecting Aarang's supposed stab wound- we haven't actually seen it yet- to JooWal going momentarily crazy in ep2 and pulling out that dagger on the giseng. But the mother connection is suspicious too.

Yes, this. There has to be a reason she had the hairpin.
