I think by now te biggest mercy Kang To or anyone else can show him is to put him down like a rabid dog.
-->This! And at this point, it would really be like putting a rabid dog down.

I bet there's a Little Shunji in his brain that can only watch horrified at all the horrors Big Shunji has committed.

Kang To was wondering how the hell he was supposed to live after having shot his brother and he's found a way.

I don't think any such way exists for Shunji. The best I could hope for his character would be for him die to save someone --preferably a Joseon person unrelated to Mok Dan or Kang To so that we can get back to the roots of his character and get closure.

And yeah, the fanboy/KT scene was awesome. When KT repeated his worshiful words to confirm his identity I just about died laughing.

Speaking of Fanboy... How dumb was it of Shunji to buy what he said? It wasn't long ago that he witnessed Rebel Laby committing suicide right in front of his eyes so that they wouldn't get anything out of her. The men from DJ's Squad are supposed to be even more hardcore.

He thought that finding out KT's identity had given him the upper hand and it made him over-confident. He lost his edge. About time he got pwned too. That was very satisfying.

Yes, he definitely lost his edge - he even slipped up to both spy girl and Mok Dan that he knows KT is Gaksital (not that spy girl realized that is what he said), not to mention he forgot the cardinal rule of treating your informants well.

I like your idea of little/big Shunji - a very small part of me is still boggled that the wonderful Shunji of early eps, who stood up for his friend against his family, taught Korean children, and sold his father's sword, knowing what kind of beating he was going to get, to save his Kirean nanny, has turned into torturer, murderer and war criminal
