Watched the first fifteen minutes of Qing Shi Huang Fei (all that was subbed) and I just know I am going to love it.
I approve of a drama putting all its cards on the table and showing its heroine about to be executed in the first two minutes of the first episode. You know it's going to be a chirpy drama. I am quite relieved though because the scene of Ruby all pale and noble, about to be beheaded, was in all the trailers and I was worried it was the ending.
So, yes, when we first meet our heroine, she's literally Too Good For This World (tm), as she's about to be offed by her evil Uncle for saving a young thief from death by breaking him out of prison (I am willing to suspend my disbelief that a princess of Chu and a daughter of the current ruler would get executed for anything short of having sex with livestock in the marketplace. If it was ancient Qin in the centuries before it conquered the rest of China, maybe...).
I started cracking up like a maniac when the camera panned to Yan Kuan watching the spectacle in a Robin Hood-type get-up and his gorgeous female assistant is telling him how Princess Fuya is beloved by the citizens and spends her time taking care of the poor and nursing the sick, and he responds "She is going to lose her life because of a beggar boy. She's quite stupid, isn't she?"
LOLOLOL, rock on with your cynical self, Yan Kuan! I am assuming he will rescue her anyway for nefarious political reasons. I am quite curious as to how her shiny awesomeness is going to make him fall for her (I've seen clips of clinging and weeping!) because he appears to be very pragmatic and not the least interested in the softer side of life. Ruby is awfully pretty though.
No Wallace yet, but we can't have everything.
This trailer also indicates Yan Kuan has borrowed Domyouji's Mom. Good luck, dude, you'll need it!

I am very tempted to watch this drama raw but it's very dialogue-heavy and I am sure I will not be able to follow triple-crosses and back-stabbing raw.
