Excuse me while I rant
I am going to make a proper post for eps 19-20 of TPM but I had to get this out first or I would explode - Shin Myun and Sooyang should both be eaten by freaking snakes while I watch!
Let's start with Sooyang - after ep 20, all I could think was - And the award for worst father of the year goes to... No, Undaddy from City Hunter still wins, but barely. WTF, psycho! His actions at the end of ep 20 could be summed up as "Daughter, you've been pissing me off when all I want is just to kill my opponents in peace! I won't stand for it any more! So, you are now Shin Myun's slave. Officer Shin, have fun raping my daughter."
Honestly - what the everloving fuck? He makes her a slave, whatever (it's in keeping with the autocractic society where even nobility is at the whim of a ruler). He gives her to the guy she was supposed to marry as a slave? Yeah, it's pretty much 'have fun being raped' action. WTF!
Now, much as I hate Myun, I don't think he'll be raping Se Ryung any time soon, firstly because he is all about self-preservation and it could be dangerous to mess with the king's daughter, even a disgraced one - what if the king changes his mind? And also because for him SR is a trophy, a symbol - he wants her to like him because it would prove to him that he's better than Seung Yu, that he's a good person - he knows, deep in his soul, that neither of these is true so he is seeking external valiation. But Sooyang doesn't know that, he's not even thinking of that!
And Myun - taking out his inferiority on everyone - trying to hunt Seung Yu to death (what, killing his family was not enough?), terrorizing Se Ryung, beating up those weaker than he, being Sooyang's n1 yes man, someone who sold his soul and is now whining how nobody appreciates his sacrifice. Ugh. What a pathetic soulless loser!
God, I want Myun and Sooyang to freaking die together. Ugh, Maybe they should marry each other.
