I don't think I can ever watch anything with male hairstyles so unfortunate they can ruin something as gorgeous as that. ):

I know! I am not that familiar with Chinese entertainers so I've never seen this guy in anything before and then I saw pics of him in Qing getup and was wondering why on earth he was the romantic lead and generally a big star because not attractive in the least. And then I saw normal pictures of him and got it :) Seriously, I think whoever invented that hairstyle (1) gets the prize for inventing worst male hairstyle in history (2) was a balding individual with a grudge against humanity.

I don't know if it's the worse haircut in history. The Edo period samurai hair is pretty bad too, if not worse imo. XD

Same here.

I agree that the Japanese Edo haircut is much worse than the Manchurian one, but I watched Jin (the lovely story, acting and directly tided me over the initial disgust over the hairdo) and gradually got used to it. We'll get desentitised!!

But the lead in Jin wisely didn't adopt the haircut :)

Glad for that! I hated the female's hairstyle at first too, but gradually they became less of an eyesore.

Same to me but I didn't grew up watching them. I just watched a lot Jet li old wuxia movies and I felt this hairstyle fitted him very well -even he looked better with the pigtail hairstyle than with the han one.

I am used to it by now but I think almost no man can carry it off. Kevin Cheng and Feng Shao Feng are the only men I've ever seen who pull it off.
