OMG Yamada Tayuki! Pity that I am really not interested in historical dramas else I would check it out because he is such an underrated actor. I don't know if you've seen Crows Zero but he almost overshadows everyone in that entire movie haha. I guess I will probably check out Arakawa Under the Bridge which has an interesting premise.

“Arakawa Under the Bridge” is a story about Ichinomiya “Riku” Kou, a young upper-class man who tries to live a life without any debts to anyone, and a strange yet beautiful homeless girl called Nino who claims to be from the Venus. Unfortunately for him, he ends up owing his life to Nino and has no choice but to live with her under the bridge by the Arakawa river in order to follow his debt-free policy. In 2010, the manga was already made into an anime that spawned two seasons. The live-action movie of “Arakawa Under the Bridge” is scheduled to open in spring of 2012, but TBS already announced that we are also going to see a drama adaption airing in a midnight slot later this summer.

I am super excited about Arakawa because in addition to YT it also has Oguri Shun. I just might die.

(Though shockingly, neither Shun nor Takayuki, is the male lead. I disapprove, especially since YT is supposed to be in love with the heroine. Booooo!)

The period drama might not get any subs so I am trying not to get my hopes up. But YT is one of two jdrama actors who I will literally watch in anything (no, KimuTaku does not get that privilege, even :P) MatsuJun is the second.

He is so magnetic it's crazy.

Omg just realized YT is named 4th in that drama and Oguri Shun third. What is this? And the lead is someone who I have never heard of or even remotely care about. I wonder if YT is possibly getting the sideline because of his past scandal? It seems like people are over that though but you never really know.

I've tried to find a recent jdrama to watch but no luck. I feel that right now more than ever, it's populated with no name idols turned into even worse actors.

What scandal? /is out of the jdrama loop.

Wolfie swears by Soredemo, Ikite Yuku and it does sound awesome.

From Yukan Fuji

Yamada Takayuki has been revealed to have a son born out of wedlock and the baby is currently raised by the mother who is of the same age as Yamada, at her hometown. The baby boy was born last Oct and Yamada will foot all living expenses and education expenses but the couple have no plans to get married.

*Apparently it was a huge scandal back when it was found out (in 2006 I think?) because people felt that since he decided not to get married he was being selfish. Go figure.

Ohh! I was just reading the summary to that drama after seeing it on one hour. It does have Eita so I will probably watch it.

LOL, only in Japan it would be a scandal. :P

That's why Yamada is banned from some tv stations still today even if it's old news, it was his former gf who wanted to raise the child without Yamada's help even though he supports her financially.
And Crows zero is awesome.

I kind of want to say "how dare he pretend his kid doesn't exist or marry a woman he presumably isn't in love with and possibly/probably make both of them-and the kid by extension-unhappy?"

::butts in::

Wait, you've watched Crows Zero? Because my brothers have been trying to get me to watch for awhile, but I haven't been in the mood. Any good?

The first one is much better than the second. But still worth watching both! Especially since the second one helps to tie up some loose ends.
