I am watching ep 1 with subs and it is incredibly enjoyable, even more so now I can understand what they say.
This said, I have to still the small sane part of me which is dying to point out that:
a. Heroine's job has most certainly resulted in many innocent North Koreans and their families punished by being sent into labor camps. Happy ending seems a bit unfair and
b. Anyone that Dear Leader is willing to let outside North Korea into the wide wide world - i.e. not only be able to escape into it but to see that the regime's "NK is best place on earth, elsewhere people suffer" mantra is a lie, has got to be so brainwashed into loyalty to him, that she is not going to ditch and have qualms and jump the fence even for someone as hot as Eric.
Ah well, keep repeating to self, romcom romcom romcom. And a delightful one at that, so why look a gift horse in the mouth? I mean, I love this scene, when she has to be at his fanmeeting and looks at all the screaming fangirls and his showing off as if they are all lunatic aliens. But at the end you can see she's feeling a frisson of attraction, or maybe not yet that, but something. Heh.
I kinda love that the set-up is that he plays the tough guy on-screen but she genuinely is one.
