ViM/Strange Hero Yi Zi Mei is so ridiculously awesome, my fangirl self would like to roll in it. I was planning to wait until Jiang Hu subbed first 15 eps but my impatience got the better of me and I started with 10 being subbed.
Finished the first subbed ep, and I am obsessed.
This is our hero. He's an alcoholic who throws fights for money, teaches street orphans and is a former high-ranking cop who broke after his wife was killed. He's also going to turn into Chinese Robin Hood and is played by Wallace Huo, a.k.a. one of the very few cdrama actors who can give Huang Xiao Ming a run for his money in the 'utterly stunning' department. And scruffy, rough, and with a "I don't care about anything" vibe here, he's hitting every kink I didn't know I had. He must reek, possibly have live parasites in his hair and would probably call you by his wife's name when you are getting handsy, and I'd still hit it like a ton of bricks.
Add in a tight storyline, some gorgeous cinematography, and a tough-as-nails thief heroine played by a huge Mousie favorite Liu Shi Shi and I sense a sleepless obsession is about to take a ridiculous hold. You know how good it is? Mr. Mousie is now addicted and really wants to watch more. Only two dramas he ever liked were Hong Gil Dong and Kareinaru Ichizoku. So that's saying a lot.
