Out of all the airing kdramas, the one that I like the most and the one that I think is the best is Can You Hear My Heart. There is something about it that really draws me in. The drama it reminds me most of is Spring Waltz - the same clean, spring visual palette and the same vibe - some really dark topics wrapped in a gorgeous and somehow hopeful package. It has made me laugh and it has made me cry. I could watch it forever.
The scene where he realizes who she is but denies he knows her. He's so so very messed-up. I could kill his freaking mother. When stuff like what happened to him happened, get him some therapy and send him to Gallaudet (or Korean version thereof), don't make him pretend to be 'normal' upon threat of death (yours and his), inculcate a drive for revenge, and treat him like a cripple in private. Ugh.
I don't really like Joon Ha, sorry JH fans. But I do feel awfully sorry for him. He's going to be ground into dirt before this is through and for no fault of his own.
I really love how he comes across as so pleasant and a little standoffish but fine and in reality he is this total destroyed mess. Yup, reminds me of Spring Waltz a lot.
This is one of the slashiest dramas ever :P
Heh. Whenever they are together, it gets so sunshiny. She's so straightforward and indomitable and common-sense. ILY, Woori.
Joon Ha watching his family miss him. And Dong Joo knows.
Ugh, I hate you, woman. Your disappointments and need for revenge have turned you into a monster. Pick one - either insist he acts 'normal' all the time but then treat him as such, or let him live at peace with his handicap. When you make him put on an act but throw his disability in his face in private, you are a giant bitch.
So cute! Honestly, if all those stressors were removed, I believe DJ could return to being the lovely laid-back person he was before all the stuff happened - because even with all the damage, he's still very normal when he lets himself be and forgets all the horrid stuff.
Finding out his stepfather was responsible for the factory fire which killed her mother (he was so excited, too, about her remembering him as 'pianist' and yeah - good things don't happen much in this drama).
That scene was depressing but also super-pretty.
And this was just straight-out depressing, where he breaks the 'magic' beanbag which Woori gave him when they were kids. But he still is unconsciously clenching his hand in his sleep as if the bag was still in it.
She's not content with messing up her birth son like no tomorrow. Nah, she's talented enough to mess up her adopted kid too. She's just awful. The 'brothers' are going to need to be in therapy forever.
Cannot wait to watch more.
