Best First Meeting EVER
OK, why don't I have any Wallace Huo icons, really?
I have just started Romantic Red Rouge, also known as Red Snow, a period cdrama starring Mousie favorites Fan Bing Bing and Wallace Huo (hello, paging kitkat_cat!). FBB plays a woman married against her will into a rich, secretive family who falls in love with Wallace Huo who works for the family for some mysterious reasons of his own. I believe they shall be mandated to have pretty babies for the sake of all humanity.
I am barely five minutes in and I am totally in love! It's so pretty and interesting and *turns fangirl mode on* it has the best first OTP meeting ever!
Yup, he's on the river when she suddenly pops out of the water. She is running away from her arranged marriage and he's the one who accidentally prevents her. Eeeeee! You dug your own angst pit, boy!
Also, the more I watch period dramas, the more I am happy to be in the now. The drama opens (six months before the story proper starts) with some woman who's about to be married when her husband keels over right before the wedding. So her father says she'll now be known as a curse and her best hope for a virtuous life is to be forever chaste, living in her to-be husband's house and to assure that outcome he brands her on the face, so she'll be disfigured and nobody would want her. WTF!!!
ETA: For all those annoyed by my occasionally excessive posting, relief is on the way. I am having surgery tomorrow so posting will probably be a bit sparce for a few days and you guys get a break.
